Catering Manager (Chef)

Wallan Community Aged Care is preparing to open its brand‑new, purpose‑built 89‑bed home on 14 September 2026, and we have an exciting opportunity for a Catering Manager (Chef) to join us.

 

The role is offered on a a full time basis, with a planned start date in early to mid‑July 2026.

 

This is a rare opportunity to be part of the initial commissioning team, helping shape the dining experience and kitchen operations from day one within a state‑of‑the‑art commercial kitchen..

About the Role

We’re looking for a passionate, motivated Chef to lead food services at Wallan Community Aged Care. You’ll collaborate with nurses, personal carers, allied health professionals, residents, and families to deliver high‑quality meals and enjoyable dining experiences in our brand‑new home.

About You

You are a qualified Chef with experience across commercial, fine dining, or aged care environments. You bring strong leadership, creativity, and a commitment to delivering safe, high‑quality food service from the ground up.


You will need:

  • Cert III in Commercial Cookery SIT30821 (Essential)
  •  Food Safety Supervisor accreditation (HLTSS00061), issued within the last five years (Essential)
  • Police Check within 12 months
  • Strong knowledge of catering principles
  • Proven experience leading and managing catering teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work safely within OH&S and continuous improvement frameworks
  • Experience designing menus to set budgets and working with suppliers
  • Ability to manage modified and textured diets
  • A positive, proactive attitude
