Lead the delivery of People & Culture in a growing residential aged care organisation We are a growing residential aged care provider with a clear vision: to deliver exceptional care and meaningful ageing. As we continue to scale, we are investing in our People & Culture capability to ensure our systems, teams and practices keep pace with growth whilst providing strong employee outcomes and exceptional care delivery. This includes the implementation of a new HRIS across the business — a key initiative to strengthen how we manage and support our workforce. We are now seeking a Head of People Operations for this newly created role to lead the day-to-day delivery of HR across the organisation and play a central role in this transformation. Why This Role Matters This is a senior operational HR leadership role responsible for delivering People & Culture services across a large, multistate workforce spanning our residential homes and Support Centre. As we grow this role will play a critical part in implementing and embedding a new HRIS, ensuring it is fit-for-purpose, supports our operating model and enables scalable and efficient P&C practices. Working in close partnership with the Executive General Manager – People & Culture and our senior operations leaders you will provide clear and proactive visibility of workforce risks and emerging issues This is a visible, hands-on role requiring authentic leadership, sound judgement, responsiveness and the ability to manage a broad range of operational HR priorities and compliance risks - all while role‑modelling our CARE values of Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Empathy. What You’ll Be Doing - Lead the People Operations function, supporting a high‑performing team of HR Managers across multiple states and a dedicated HRIS Systems Transformation Lead (approx. 5 direct reports)
- Oversee case management, escalation and risk, ensuring consistent and defensible outcomes
- Lead and support P&C related operational and workforce change initiatives aligned to organisational growth
- Maintain strong HR governance and compliance across BAU people processes, ensuring consistency, rigour and alignment with organisational standards
- Act as the accountable business owner for the soon to be implemented HRIS, overseeing design decisions, workflows, data integrity and governance
- Act as the primary HR contact for Support Centre teams providing trusted, practical HR advice and support.
- Deliver accurate, timely people reporting and insights to the EGM – People & Culture, highlighting risks and emerging issues
About You: You are a practical, credible, forward-thinking and highly organised HR leader who brings both structure and pragmatism to complex environments and thrives in a hands-on, fast-moving environment. You will bring: - Degree in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Business or related discipline
- Experience as a Senior national people leader in a complex, multi‑site regulated environment within a large, complex organisation
- Demonstrated experience working in a similar role within aged care, health care or not-for-profit environment preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading HR Business Partner/HR Operational teams overseeing high-volume case management across multiple sites
- Proven experience leading or owning a major HRIS implementation or a large-scale systems upgrade.
- Strong experience in workforce compliance BAU governance
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, privacy requirements and aged care workforce obligations (desirable)
- A highly effective communicator who can engage, influence and challenge constructively
- A leader who values visibility, transparency and proactive communication, particularly on emerging risks and issues
- Ability/ willingness to travel interstate as required and work occasional out of hours for business-critical matters
- Valid right to Work in Australia
- Valid driver’s licence
- Current National Police check/ NDIS check (or willingness to obtain)
