About the Role:

 

Are you a driven project leader passionate about making a real difference in the lives of older Australians? Join our For Purpose organisation as a Capital Works Manager, where you’ll lead the planning and delivery of capital projects that directly enhance the quality of life for our aged care residents.

 

In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee the development, maintenance, and upgrade of our care facilities—ensuring they are modern, safe, compliant, and designed with resident wellbeing at heart. You’ll be responsible for managing project budgets, procurement processes, timelines, and a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure each project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.

About YOU:

 

A proactive, solutions-focused professional with a blend of technical know-how and people skills to lead meaningful infrastructure projects. 

 

You will bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Significant experience delivering capital projects—preferably in health, aged care, or other regulated environments—where safety, compliance, and care come first.

  • A proven track record of successfully managing large-scale budgets and multiple concurrent projects with confidence and precision.

  • Solid knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and aged care compliance standards, ensuring all work exceeds expectations.

  • Hands-on experience in contract negotiation and contractor management, from procurement through to project completion.

  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to develop, monitor, and report on detailed budgets and cost plans.

  • Excellent project planning and organisational skills, with a results-driven mindset and ability to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Confident, clear communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build trust.

  • A steady hand under pressure, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and lead with calm efficiency.

  • A keen eye for detail, with a deep commitment to quality outcomes and resident wellbeing.

  • Knowledge of asset management principles and lifecycle costing, contributing to long-term sustainability and strategic decision-making.
